Given the response of the last volunteer opportunity with FMSC, and given PCC’s involvement with Sudan relief in the past, this just seemed like too perfect of an opportunity to pass up. I just received this email from Beatrice Pedersen, the Chicago Director of Development for FMSC:
Hi All,
Just a note to let you know there are still some session times available for the Million Meal Challenge at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Naperville, September 22-27. Call St. Thomas at 630-355-8980 to sign up.
To remind you, we are trying to pack one million meals in one week to feed the starving children in the Sudan. It’s a grand challenge, but with your help (and the help of abut 3,500 other volunteers!) we will do it!
Please join us for some meaningful service work as well as two hours of a fun-filled hands-on activity. Bring your scout troops, Bible Study groups, Religious Ed groups, youth groups, senior groups, school groups, Kiwanis, Rotary, Lyons, Jaycees, Corporate employees, home-schoolers. All family members are welcome: ages 5-95!
Join us to feed God’s Starving Children.
Blessings, Bea
