There are two things coming up at Parkview that, if you didn’t know better, probably seem incredibly boring. Just notice your automatic response to these two events:
Membership Class
Business Meeting
See what I mean? You’re now probably fighting the urge to fall asleep. Well… WAKE UP! And allow me to make a case for why these two events will definitely not be boring.
The membership class (Saturday, 1/3, 9:00-11:00 AM) is an excellent way for anyone to learn more of what Parkview is about. Pastor Ray and I will be sharing some of the distinctives of our church as well as the simple steps to becoming a member. We’ll also be looking ahead to where God seems to be leading the church and how you can be part of it all. There are currently 36 folks signed up, but there is always room for more. Call the church office (630-469-4306) if you’re planning on coming.
The annual business meeting (Sunday, 1/27, 6:00 PM) is one of the few times each year that we set aside time to look back at what God has done and look forward to what is coming. There are some traditional business items that get covered, but much of the time will be spent on bringing everyone up to speed on some new developments (like staff transitions) and introducing a focus for 2008 called Glimpses of the Kingdom. We’ll begin talking about Glimpses to the congregation on Sunday mornings, but the meeting on 1/27 will be the first time we explain this focus.
See… not boring. Hope you can make it.
