The rock and roll talk show Sound Opinions on Chicago Public Radio is yet another reason for civic pride… even in the dead of winter. Seriously, it’s a great show. A few weeks back they had the actors/musicians from Once (one of the best films of 07). On 1/25 they had chef Anthony Bourdain (one of Ray’s current literary interests) to talk about the collision of good food and good music.
If you’ve never listened to the show, imagine Siskel and Eibert for music. The hosts are Jim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun Times and Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune. These guys are perfect for the radio format: funny, disagreeable, and super knowledgeable without the all-too-common arrogance found in critics.
Connan had these guys on his show the other day to talk about the Grammys.
If you’re intrigued, check them out on 91.5 FM, Fridays at 8:00 PM and Saturdays at 11:00 AM. Or listen online.
