philippines team: update 4

Unfortunately this email update from the Philippines Team was sent on Monday, but just arrived today. Read on for a good report…

Just in case you didn’t know, more than one of us were prompted to go on this mission trip after we heard a sermon done by Marshall. He ended that sermon with a question, What is keeping you in Egypt? Well, I can without a doubt tell you Marshall, WE ARE NOT IN EGYPT ANYMORE!

Out of our element, we unpacked a retreat for the women of the Philippines. Great main sessions by Kathy, off the hook worship from Aubree & Karen (I’m just a little biased), workshops by Jean and Mary, and Ana and I did crafts only topped by the Spa night done by Bette. Now tell me that the you girls at Parkview aren’t a little jealous? 🙂

With that done, we are now getting the best of Manila from the Ruchs and Hendersons! We toured Faith Academy this morning. It’s an awesome place. After that we toured the orphanage and gave the workers there a break. We took over the toddlers and babies for about an hour. We rocked and played with a very cute bunch, changed a few diapers and got the toddlers ready for a birthday party. After that it was Halo Halo treats (a shaved ice and cheese ice cream with fruit on top dessert) for everyone.

Tonight is dinner with Ruchs. We are having some great Filipino food!

Keep praying for our team! We had tons of obstacles to overcome, which we overcame with your prayers (I’m sure).

Blessings,

Sue

  2. Team,

that’s an awesome report. We are looking forward to hearing about your second retreat. Am praying that this will be a real encouragement to those missionary ladies and their families who serve year round, day in and out.

We’re hoping you take a lot of pictures (hint hint) to share back home and encourage us to keep praying for those we support.

    Praying for you daily.
