The book I’ve spent the most time with over the past month is Jesus for President, by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw. My friend Skye sent me the advanced copy for me to review for Leadership. I then heard Shane speak at NPC and got to interview both Shane and Chris on the phone a couple weeks ago. These guys have chosen to live, with their communities, in some rough neighborhoods in Philadelphia and Camden, NJ. The book is their vision of what the church could be: located within the empire but distinct from it.
