The honor of being the last person to answer the question, “Why does Easter matter to you?” goes to Larry Eisner. Why? Well, aside from being an all-around good guy, Larry is the most frequent commenter on this blog. A fact I am very grateful for. I sometimes link directly to Larry’s comments because he generally takes my half-baked thoughts and kicks it up a notch.
Thanks to everyone who participated in my little Easter-extension experiment. Here’s Larry to close it out…
To be honest, Easter (the holiday) means very little to me. It seems very natural to me that God could raise himself from the dead. But Good Friday is the day that means more to me. I know everything about being a Christian is about the resurrection. Definitely. But for me, the idea that a God would lower himself to earth to be killed, even though he knows who I am and what I’ve done and stuff…that’s what gets it for me.
