After dropping Maggie off at the train this morning (she has to work today, typically our day off together) I drove north on Lake Shore Drive to Metropolis, my favorite coffee shop in the city.

This was the view from the Recreation Drive exit of LSD around 7:30.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but that is a thick layer of ice covering the cement walk along the lake.  The unpredictable personality of Lake Michigan is one of the reasons I love this city.
