While I was looking forward to the entire Lollapalooza experience last weekend, The Low Anthem was the one band I was most interested in. The Rhode Island trio didn’t disappoint and is certainly my favorite discovery of 2009. I was lucky enough to get to the stage early and got to enjoy the show from the front row.
Like a lot of my favorite music, The Low Anthem features adept musicians with beautiful harmonies and intriguing lyrics. For a taste of the concert, check out NPR’s recording of The Low Anthem’s recent performance at the Newort Folk Festival.
Here is a lovely version of their song, “To the Ghosts Who Write History Books.” Enjoy.
Vodpod videos no longer available. On a slightly related note, Stan was kind enough to suggest a recap of Lollapalooza. I’d like to get to that next Saturday.
