In less than a month Parkview Community Church will be the location for an intriguing concert. A bunch of students have organized a concert to benefit the Darfur region of Sudan. The event deserves your attention for a few reasons. First, its a chance to hear six local bands: Belladonna, Beou-er, Sleepy Sleepy Octopus, Stain Removal, Levi Weaver, and Yourself and the Air. Second, with a bit of help from Glenn Westburg, the whole thing is being organized by students. And finally, all proceeds will be donated to the work of Samaritan’s Purse in Darfur.
This won’t be the first time Parkview has been involved with Samaritan’s Purse in Sudan. In the fall of 2006 the church participated in a financial fast to support the work in this desperate region. It’s very hopeful to see these students continue to focus on an area of the world many of us are prone to forget.
Mark your calendars for Friday, March 7. 6:30-11:00. Tickets are $5.00.
