Thanks to those of you who left comments on my recent post, a book i’d like to read: christian imagination.  Susan recommended three different books on this subject: Orthodoxy, Mind of the Maker, and My Name is Asher Lev.  Of these I’ve only read Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, though I’ve read two other novels by Chaim Potok, author of My Name is Asher Lev.

Two recommendations: First, a compendium entitled The Christian Imagination: The Practice of Faith in Literature and Writing edited by Leland Ryken, with essays & excerpts by many of the folks mentioned in previous comments. And recently I wrote a book developing a theology of imagination (based on my experience in youth ministry, but it seems folks are finding it applicable in other settings as well). It’s entitled The God-Hungry Imagination: The Art of Storytelling for Postmodern Youth Ministry (Upper Room Books, 2007). For what it’s worth!
