Today we begin our family vacation in California.  Coincidentally, Signs of Life has also decided a vacation is in order.* So while Maggie, Eliot, and I enjoy our extended family on the Pacific coast, the blog will be doing whatever blogs do on vacation.

The Gospel & Culture Conference went really well this weekend and it was the last big push before some time off.  I hope to reflect on the past three days and the material Skye presented in the near future.

Today I went to the book store to pick up my summer novel.  A number of you recommended your favorites, but I had to whittle it down to one:  Little Bee by Chris Cleave, recommended by Sue Richmond.  I’ll also find room in the suitcase for The Interior Mountain (free download), Burn this Book, and The Autobiography of Martin Luther King JR.

We’ll return from vacation in a couple of weeks and the blog has assured me that it too will be back, rested and ready to discover new signs of life.  In the meantime, as always, thanks for reading and contributing your thoughts, ideas, and contrarian notions to this blog.
