The Swell Season is Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, known best for their starring roles (as actors and musicians) in Once.  Their new album, Strict Joy, came out late last year and is as beautiful as could be expected.  Here’s the video from “Low Rising,” directed by Sam Beam of Iron and Wine.

As an aside, this  strikes me as a wonderful example of why it’s often best to simply let art be art.  There will undoubtedly be folks who find significance in this song and video- I certainly have- but rather than tell each other what it means, perhaps it’s OK to allow the art to speak for itself.
