The past couple of days in Chicago have been defined by snow. Lot’s and lot’s of snow. This storm has taken its place among the great Chicago blizzards of winters past. Maggie snapped a couple of photos while out shoveling yesterday.

I was at our denomination’s Midwinter conference near O’Hare on Tuesday when the storm hit and ended up spending the night on a cot in a hotel room with a couple of gracious pastors from New Jersey. Despite the hassle getting home, it was great to catch up with friends from around the country and enjoy a handful of significant conversations. Tory in Portland, Michael in the Bronx, José in Harlem, and Wayne in Houston are all folks who I see rarely but whose perspective and insight I highly value.
