A couple of weeks ago our church had our fall kick-off. This was mostly an excuse to have a picnic while the weather is still nice and to preach a couple of sermons about our identity as a church.

Thanks to all of you who are praying for this young church. I continue to be encouraged by God’s activity among our community and, despite the many challenges of church planting, I’m genuinely looking forward to the next few months.
This coming Sunday we are beginning a mentor-based youth group for the handful of young people from the neighborhood who regularly attending our services. Over the past two weeks folks from the church have purchased $2,000 worth of text books for the elementary school where we meet. These are some of the reasons I am hopeful about whatever is coming next.
